A New Year of Hope, Confidence and Stability

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Massive numbers of people flock to a get-a-way over a long holiday week-end looking for a chance to re-bond with their families and enjoy a needed change of pace and scenery. Big Bear cabins and homes at the Grey Squirrel provide that needed change in just a few hours. Play Monopoly next to the fireplace while the other members of the family re-acquaint themselves with each other and cooking home-made dinners, rather than fast-food or take-out. What are expectations for family gatherings when each individual has a different interpretation of fun, togetherness, activities, organized house-holds, behavior and etiquette? How do you mold these attributes you hold dearly into adult children or grandchildren? When do you close your eyes and say it is their life now? Are these values enough to spoil a family gathering or does parenting take on a new dimension? Let go and put yourself in a new era. Love the moment for what it is. Take a walk, go boarding or skiing and actively participate in something you can do with someone else and then do something for you and then do something with someone else. Extend yourself, enjoy yourself, laugh and smile and allow for a new year of positive input and output. You control and allow for those magical moments.
